The UT police has submitted a supplementary chargesheet in the teachers recruitment scam. According to the chargesheet, the handwriting on the roll number slips, which were recovered from the possession of the prime accused in the scam, matches with that of Jolly, the accused. The CFSL report has been added in the charegsheet.
Further investigations in the scam, reported in September last year, have revealed that the complainant,Kamalpreet Kaur, was the only person approached by Jolly and Hardev. Jolly had offered her a job as a teacher in lieu of Rs 4.5 lakh. The police have recovered eight roll number slips from the possession of Jolly and made inquiries from each of them.
The findings have been included in the supplementary chargesheet. In November last year, the police had filed the chargesheet in the case and have stated that the report of the handwriting samples of accused Jolly and Hardev is still awaited. The samples were matched with the handwritten roll number slips and CFSL has confirmed those to be of Jolly.
According to sources, the name of former DPI Samwartak Singh whose name cropped up during investigations, again finds no mention in the supplementary chargesheet.
The police had failed to find any material evidence regarding the DPIs involvement in the scam. On August 11,the UT administration had apprised the High Court that a supplementary chargesheet in the controversial teachers recruitment scam will be filed within a week.
