While the glitzy metros are spoilt for choice with luxury lineups,the swish set in Chandigarh had to so far plan a weekend,get the car out of the driveway and head to Delhi to shop for designer labels in haste. Noticing that trend up,close have been the three Gupta sisters from the city. Meet Aarti Gupta,Naini Gupta and Aarshi Gupta,all in their mid-20s,who decided to take matters in their own hands with ‘Soh-Koh’ their sprawling designer store which opened doors this Sunday in Sector 26. When they say designer one-stop shop,they must mean this for ‘Soh Koh’ has on its shelves names like Rohit Bal,Neeta Bhargava,Rahul Mishra,Falguni and Shane Peacock,Abhishek Dutta,Nachiket Barve,Anshu Arora Sen,Samant Chauhan,Nida Mahmood…the list is impressive. “It’s something we had been planning to do for a very long time,” Aarti mentions up first. The total number of designer labels available here is over two dozen! “We have chosen designers who have showcased their work at the fashion weeks. That way not only is their work noticeable but also is in the big league for it has to be termed truly designer,” Aarti goes on to explain.

Interestingly,instead of stocking up just for the ladies,the trio have everything under the roof except kids’ wear. “Today,fashion designers are doing more than just clothes. Some design accessories,while others have furnishing lines. Our aim is to get everything on board,” pitches in Aarshi as Naini mentions there will jewellery lines available as well. And everything is well segregated under designer names complete with their labels attached. “These aren’t seconds and are originals down to the tags,” the trio asserts. But there’s an added benefit. “Since we have sourced the collections straight from the designers,there’s a price discount,” mentions Aarti,who first thought of taking on a franchise of the multi-designer store ‘Kimaya’. “But we all gave up that idea and decided to do our own thing. This way we get to choose our own designers and hand-pick ensembles for the city,” explains Aarshi,as Aditi goes on to add,“having grown up in Chandigarh,we know the city’s fashion sense and that’s helped us in putting it all together.”
