Mick Vawdon,my band partner,and I have been friends for years. We are both passionate about music. Both of us have spent many years writing music together,even when we were in different parts of the world! As for the name,White Shoe Theory came about by accident. Mick and I were in a pub trying to create a band name and noticed that we were practically the only people in the bar who werent wearing white shoes. It was bit of a joke at first,but the name stuck.

With this latest plunge into music,are you planning a career shift?

Music is my passion and cricket is something I will never give up. I am ready to get back into the Australian cricket team and am also looking forward to IPL 2011. Both cricket and music complement each other in my life.

Why did you choose India for the first international performance of your band?

I personally have a great love affair with India and the Indian people. It was lucky for us that one of my sponsors was very keen to assist with the launch of White Shoe Theory. The music scene is very strong in India with the influence of Bollywood which I enjoy listening to,and watching. White Shoe Theory has a different feel,with more of a Rock influence.

How would you define your music?

Our sound is typically Rock. We have a wide range of influences,from old Rock to new. Hopefully,the music and the entertainment we provide as a band will speak for itself and make fans happy. Mick and I have also been working on some songs for an upcoming album. We hope to release at least a single by the end of the year.

What about acting in movies? Hollywood or Bollywood which would you like to be a part of?

Acting in movies is something I would like to do in future. Bollywood is definitely something I like.

Whats in store for Indian fans who look up to you as a cricketer?

I am currently back playing in Australia and am really looking forward to playing for the national side again. Im the fittest Ive been in years and back bowling at 150kph. I am really excited to come over to India for the World Cup and also IPL next year. I have had a few franchises express interest in me for the next season.

Are you hoping to replicate the success of your cricket career in music?

We hope that our music is liked for its originality and sound. Performing in India has been ecstatic till now. We had a lot of fun in Mumbai,Bangalore and Pune. The crowds were great. We look forward to our performance in Chandigarh,where we will perform on November 19. Were also slated to perform in Goa and Delhi.
