While Spring-Summer may seem far away, heres what mens fashion can look forward to next year
Fashion isnt just about being well-dressed for the moment but being in step with the future. Though Spring Summer 2010 might seem like its really far away, brands are already reading forecasts and getting prepared for the season ahead. Leading the way is menswear apparel brand Turtle that had a special preview of their Spring-Summer line-up this Monday in the city. Chandigarh,Punjab and Haryana have been very strong markets for us and we are thrilled with the response that Turtles got here, mentioned the brands national sales manager,S S Kundu.
For the unaware,Turtle Ltd is one of the leading menswear apparel brands in the country with a reputation of providing formidable value and international style across a range of shirts,T-shirts,trousers and accessories. We are better known for our formal range that boasts of superior quality and craftsmanship, mentioned Kundu. Targeted at young urban professionals,Turtles range brings in corporate shirts, trousers and accessories like cufflinks, ties, belts et al. Yes,cufflinks arent vintage and we even have special doctor shirts with white collar and white cuff combinations, quipped Kundu who finds the formal menswear market as one that values quality and crisp, smart styling. Buoyed by the response we are now looking to roll out our expansion plans for the north Indian market, he informed.
As far as Spring Summer goes,Kundu lists out,Bright bold colours will rule without doubt. Men love colour as much as women! Also the coming year will see the brand launch their range of formal suits and a plumper range of casual wear. Given the fact that the brand has a pan-India presence, how different are mens tastes in clothing,we quiz the national sales manager. Everyone loves to dress well but some rules are different. For example,in the south men still like to wear darker coloured shirts even in peak summer while deeper shades do well only in winter in the northern belt. Also the eastern part of India is indulgent with formal wear while the West likes to keep it casual, answers Kundu whose brand plays an important role in saving turtles in Orissa. Each time someone buys a Turtle product,a part of the sale goes for conservation of freshwater and marine turtles, he lets us know.
