Manish Jain, the owner of Meena Bazaar, says he found solace in his last read Celebrating Silence by spiritual guru and founder of the Art of Living Foundation,Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
An avid reader,Manish is of the opinion that reading occupies an integral part of life.
With a preference for reading books on spirituality and meditation,he says: I make it a point to read for at least half an hour everyday. I believe that reading completes a person and takes one to another world. The more you read, the more complete you feel emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Celebrating Silence is a collection of weekly discourses by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and describes the spiritual path as one of service and surrender.
The book aims to lead one through an understanding of God and his/her inner self for a better understanding of life. It also emphasises on the value of service bringing forth the view that all fear and confusion in life arises from a lack of commitment. The significance of turning to ones inner consciousness in order to gain certainty in the material world is also highlighted, says Manish, who appears to be visibly motivated by the book.
He continues,Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also talks about the eminence of faith for peace of mind and to bring strength and stability for a blessed life.
And if one thinks that Manish is clearly on the spiritual path,he surprises you with a dose of reality: Im totally a family person. I like to dine out and go for long drives with my family. Spirituality doesnt mean you have to quit family life. Point taken.
