The forgotten art of storytelling,dastangoi,is the hero in Nadira Babbars Hum Kahein Aap Suney. In the play,the central protagonist attempts to inspire his nephew to learn this art form with the help of a dastangoi teacher (played by Babbar). The play is a part of theatre festival,Ekjute Caravan,organised by Babbars Mumbai-based theatre group,to celebrate its 30th anniversary. It will be staged at Shri Ram Center on April 18. Holy Day
Visit the holy city of India,Varanasi,through paintings by contemporary artist,Sanjay Singh. A PhD in Fine Arts from Banaras Hindu University,Singh paints in mediums ranging from oil and acrylic to charcoal. Titled Banaras A Spiritual Quest,the exhibition is on at Bhuvneshwari Kala Kendra,Bhondsi Village,Gurgaon,till April 22.

Neelam Man Singh’s play Streer Patra (A Wifes Letter),based on a short story written by Rabindranath Tagore,will open at the Rock Garden. The play revolves around Mrinal who,having ended her marital life,writes a letter to her husband. Tagore had written this work in the letter format. The five shows will be staged at the Rock Garden from April 19 to April 23
