Look for joy in everyday life, muses bureaucrat and prolific writer Manoj Singh in his new book Meri Pehchan
It was a natural urge to express himself that got Manoj Singh to pick up the pen once again. I wanted to look at the world from a completely different perspective and thats how Meri Pehchan came about, remarked the author whose new book,a compilation of 11 short stories, was formally launched this Sunday by Ravindra Kalia,Director,Bhartiya Gyanpith. Currently working as Deputy Director General,Vigilance and Telecom Monitoring (Punjab and Chandigarh),Singh is also known to be a prolific writer of Hindi literature with a number of books and poems to his credit. Speaking of Singhs work,Kalia, the chief guest on the occasion expressed that the authors work represented the thought process of todays generation.
Interestingly, the release of Meri Pehchan,Singh admits is as special to him as the birth of a new baby in the family. The development of society is meaningless if it is not followed by happiness. It is the joy in the small things in our lives which matter a lot. These stories depict this very fact, Singh explained as he also went on to add,Each story is based on an entirely different theme.
The other literary works to Singhs credit include Chandrikotsav,Bandhan,Vyaktitav Ka Prabhav and Kashmakhash. Chandrikotsav was based on a romantic festival celebrating the light of a full moon and it has now been recommended for M Phil course by Himachal University. Bandhan,on the other hand, was fictional depicting relationship of a schizophrenic patient with the world around him. It was serialized on my website, Singh smiled to say.
With Meri Pehchan now on the stands,Manoj isnt taking a breather and in fact is excited about his forthcoming books – Hostel Kae Panoh Sae and Jee Sir. For Hostel Ke Panoh Sae I have all my friends from around the world providing me inputs on their experiences at their respective hostels, informed the author as he added,Jee Sir is a satire I am penning on official red tapism and its impact on people. While Hostel Kae Panoh Sae is expected to be out by next year,Jee Sir,informs the author, will take some time. Until then!
