The Opposition in Haryana has demanded immediate scrapping of a draft master plan for the Gurgaon-Manesar belt that was tweaked to include 40 acres of prime land purchased by former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kandas business partners earlier this year. Indian national Lok Dal president and former chief minister also demanded action against officials who changed the zone of the land brought at throwaway prices from farmers from agriculture to residential use within three months of the purchase. The land was bought by Sarv Realtors Pvt Ltd,a firm in which Kandas partners Tej Prakash Bansal and Navneet Kumar are directors Citing The Indian Express expose on the issue,Chautala said that it only gave credence to their assertion that the government was hand-in-glove with the former minister and he still carries weight even from behind the bars. The private firms director is from Ellenabad and was never in a position to buy land worth crores of rupees. This is a dummy company created by Kanda. It is not without a reason that the government tweaked the master plan overnight to include the 40 acre land, Chautala said. The Draft Development Plan of Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex 2031 was tweaked on June 7,just 11 days after Kanda was arrested for his alleged role in the death of MDLR air hostess Geetika Sharma. The state government had earlier helped Kanda dodge the law and now done him a favour worth billions of rupees. What else do you need to prove that he (Chief Minister Bhupinder singh Hooda) is hands-in-glove with Kanda? Chautala asked. He added that Hooda government is acting under compulsion too, because if they decide to take action against the corrupt ministers then the CM and his whole cabinet will be standing in the dock. The former chief minister reiterated that the Congress-led Haryana government was only indulging in property dealing and their days were numbered. He also reminded Hooda of his assertion that he will resign if it was ever proved that even an inch of land was acquired in his regime to be released to the builders. Its time for him to hang his boots as Supreme Court recently indicted him for releasing 230 acre land in Rohtak acquired for public interest to a private builder, Chautala added.
