SAD-BJP made false promises: Congress

A rally was organized by the Mohali District Congress Committee in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday. Members of the rally wore black kurtas and raised slogans against the increase in electricity tariff and taxes on sugar by the SAD-BJP government.

The rally was addressed by Balbir Singh Sidhu,MLA of Mohali constituency,Jagmohan Singh Kang,MLA of Kharar and Ravneet Singh,Member of Parliament,Anandpur Sahib. Sidhu criticized the government for ignoring its own election manifesto. “The government fooled the people of Punjab by giving false promises just to grab the election. Now it is showing its true face by levying unjustifiable taxes on the people of Punjab. The Congress party will not tolerate this and will start an agitation even at the village level. Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal,both of whom used to speak of surplus electricity a few years ago are now enforcing 14-16 hours of power cuts a day,” alleged Sidhu.

He said not only the common man,but farmers,businessmen and industrialists are fed up of the misrule.
