Residents of Mohali protest flyover construction

Residents of Phase VI in Mohali continued their hunger strike on second day on Friday against the construction of flyover from Phase VI to Khanpur Chowk in Kharar.

The residents demanded that the location of the flyover should be shifted from near their residences to Dara studio.

The vice-president of Gurudwara Committee of Phase VI- Gurnam Singh said they met the authorities and requested to shift the location to Dara studio, but nobody paid any heed to them.

He said they have started a chain hunger strike in Phase VI and soon the hunger strike will be converted into fast unto death if their demand is not met.

He said if the flyover is constructed on its present location, then the residents of the area will have to face difficulties. The residents demanded that the flyover should be shifted near Dara studio where there is no residential area.
