Pvt contractor using CITCO brand

The Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) seems to have turned a blind eye to its brand name being used by a private contractor at the bus stand in Sector 43. While the contract was allotted to a private contractor around four years back,the brand name has not been changed.

The food joint at the bus stand is called Chef 43. This was the name initially given to the place when it started and was being managed by CITCO. However,even after the contract was allotted,the name was not changed. CITCO runs Chef 17 at the bus stand in Sector 17.

The names are all that is common at the two places. The prices of the food served in Sector 43 are higher than that in Sector 17. Even the packaged items are being sold at a higher price. While there is a check on prices at Sector 17,it seems to be missing at the bus stand in Sector 43. The continued use of the name seems to have gone unchecked by CITCO.

A CITCO fficial says the quality of food being provided in Sector 17 is better than in Sector 43. While the contractor is using the brand name Chef 43,the joint is not managed by CITCO.
