Punjabi University go down fighting to Kerala

Despite staring down the barrels,the players of Punjabi University,Patiala showed remarkable fighting skills and put up a stiff resistance before going down fighting to Kerala University 2-3 in an evenly-contested match on the third day of the all-India inter university baseball (men) championship being organised by Panjab University at the PU ground on Monday.

Meanwhile,Guru Nanak Dev University,Amritsar did not face any difficulty and cruised to an usual 12-0 win over Jiwani University,Gwalior. Coming up with a stellar show,the GNDU players dominated in all departments to register a convincing victory. Also,Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna University,Gharwal produced a classy display to thrash MJP Rohilkhand University 11-1 in a lop-sided encounter.

In another fixture,Maharaja Ganga Singh University,Bikaner got the better of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,Hyderabad 7-2. Lovely Prof University,Phagwara defeated Mumbai University 2-0.
