Punjabi University cyclists make merry

It was a good day for hosts Punjabi University as they created new meet records to claim the top spot in the 1,500 m team time trial event in the men's as well as women's category on the opening day of the All India Inter-University Cycling Championship at Punjab University campus.

It was a good day for hosts Punjabi University as they created new meet records to claim the top spot in the 1,500 m team time trial event in the men’s as well as women’s category on the opening day of the All India Inter-University Cycling Championship at Punjab University campus. In the men’s category,the Punjabi University team won the top spot with a timing of one minute and 46.295 seconds while the second spot was bagged by Panjab University,Chandigarh which clocked a timing of one minuet and 50.893 seconds. The third spot was bagged by MGS University,Bikaner with a timing of one minute and 51.612 seconds. In the women’s category in the same event,hosts Punjabi University claimed the top spot with a timing of two minutes and 8.485 seconds while the second spot was bagged by kerela University with a timing of two minutes and 11.950 seconds. The third spot was bagged by Panjab University,Chandigarh with a timing of two minutes and 13.110 seconds.

U-15 cricket trials tomorrow
CHANDIGARH:
Trials will be conducted to select Under-15 Punjab team for upcoming1st Rajiv Gandhi Cup All India U-15 National League Cricket Tournament at Jaipur,Rajasthan. The tournament will be held from November 24-27. The trials will be conducted on November 11 at 3.00pm at Shivalik Public School,Sector-41,Chandigarh. Players born on or after 01-01,1994 are eligible to participate in the tournament. For further details coach Bikramjeet Singh can be contacted at 9256419948. Meanwhile,the Haryana probables were announced on Monday. They will have to report to coach Davinder Singh at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School,Sector-40,Chandigarh.
