Punjabi University cyclists make merry

It was a good day for hosts Punjabi University as they created new meet records to claim the top spot in the 1,500 m team time trial event in the men’s as well as women’s category on the opening day of the All India Inter-University Cycling Championship at Punjab University campus. In the men’s category,the Punjabi University team won the top spot with a timing of one minute and 46.295 seconds while the second spot was bagged by Panjab University,Chandigarh which clocked a timing of one minuet and 50.893 seconds. The third spot was bagged by MGS University,Bikaner with a timing of one minute and 51.612 seconds. In the women’s category in the same event,hosts Punjabi University claimed the top spot with a timing of two minutes and 8.485 seconds while the second spot was bagged by kerela University with a timing of two minutes and 11.950 seconds. The third spot was bagged by Panjab University,Chandigarh with a timing of two minutes and 13.110 seconds.

U-15 cricket trials tomorrow
CHANDIGARH:Trials will be conducted to select Under-15 Punjab team for upcoming1st Rajiv Gandhi Cup All India U-15 National League Cricket Tournament at Jaipur,Rajasthan. The tournament will be held from November 24-27. The trials will be conducted on November 11 at 3.00pm at Shivalik Public School,Sector-41,Chandigarh.
