PEC’s VYOM-2013 blends technology,creativity

Student president,Jasmine,also shared her views about organizing the fest and asked the students to remain enthusiastic throughout the fest.

The day started with events such as Techno Roadies,Auto-quiz,Ranbhoomi,and instructive workshops like Sixth Sense,hacking and RC aircraft.

Three workshops on ethical hacking,information security,and robotics fanatics attracted huge crowds and students eagerly participated in them.

Events such as decode,a challenge to write the best C code,and BSoD,a puzzle-solving event also witnessed huge participation. Highlights of the day included the glider making competition meant to design a catapult launch hand glider and Techno Roadies,a contest for tech-freaks. Other exciting events included civil wars and Dome’D. Both the civil events tested the participants’ knowledge and design capabilities.

The day also featured gordian knots,a VYOM initiative,that invited teams from various institutions to present their products or services that would help to improve peoples’ standard of living.

Furthermore,serving society’s need of the hour,a self-defense workshop for women was held in the evening,which brought scores of girls together for the objective of “safety first”.

The day ended on a high,with a UV Light and Dance show,with performances by the winners of India’s Got Talent,Illuminati,that brought in a mix of technology and creativity,true to the spirit of VYOM.

The second day will be witnessing events like Junkyard Wars,Crime Scene Investigation,a contest of wits and sharp minds,and workshops on animation and android and Copenhagen,a presentation of the world-renowned play,first premiered in 1998,dwelling on subjects as physics and politics,memory and perspective.
