To review the preparedness for the visit of the Prime Minister on September 14,Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj V Patil visited Dhanas and IRB Complex at Sarangpur on Friday. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be in the city to hand over keys of more than 8,000 flats constructed at Dhanas under the Slum Rehabilitation scheme of JNNURM.
The Administrator was accompanied by the senior officials of the UT Administration and police. Patil inspected the dispensary,school and police post to provide facilities of health,education and to ensure security to 50,000 people going to reside in this complex. He directed the concerned officers to plan and setup Solar Photovoltaic panels on roof top of all the flats.
The Administrator also visited IRB Complex at Sarangpur and inspected the site of Helipad,68 porta cabins and kitchen. He stressed upon setting up solar panels on roof tops of all the cabins. The Governor directed all the concerned officers to ensure that all arrangements should be made foolproof. He added that law and order should be maintained at any cost. Later,he also visited Chandigarh shooting range and asked senior civil and police officer to equip the range with all latest and modern facilities.
