Parveshs effort paves way for DAV-15 win

An all-round display by Parvesh Sharma (51 no and 2 for 10) guided DAV Public School,Sector 15,to a 60-run win over Yadavindra Public School,Mohali,in a match in the Second Brother McCann Cricket Tournament being played at St John’s Public School,Sector 26,on Friday.

DAV-15 won the toss and elected to bat first. Riding on some useful contributions from their batsmen,the team posted 134 runs for the loss of three wickets. Raman top scored with a 43-ball 54 while Parvesh Sharma remained unbeaten on 51 runs off 40 balls. For YPS,Manoj claimed two wickets for 20 runs.

Chasing the target,YPS Mohali were bundled out for 73 runs in 18 overs. Jaskaran top scored with 18 runs. For the winning team,Shivam was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed four wickets for 16 runs. Parvesh Sharma took two wickets for 10 runs.

In another match,Vivek High School registered a 19-run win over Manav Mangal School,Mohali. Batting first,Vivek High School scored 171 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. Karan played a quickfire knock of 54 runs off 33 balls while Anhad remained unbeaten on 54 runs off 30 deliveries. For Manav Mangal School,Mohali,Abhishek claimed three wickets for 14 runs.

Chasing a stiff target of 172 runs,Manav Mangal School were restricted to a total of 154 for 6. Abhishek played a valiant knock of 55 runs off 35 balls while Abhishek contributed 29 runs. For the winning team,Angad claimed two wickets for 20 runs.
