(Express Photo)There will be zero tolerance against corruption and crime against women and children in Panchkula, affirmed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Himadri Kaushik. Necessary guidelines were issued in a meeting organised by Kaushik, who took charge last week, in the auditorium of Mini Secretariat, Sector 1 with all the police officers and station incharge of the district on Monday afternoon.
During the meeting, the DCP analysed the criminal records of all the police stations and issued instructions that there should be no case pending at the police station level, nor should there be any complaint of any kind and the common people coming to the police station should be treated well. “Listen carefully to their complaint and take immediate action,” said the DCP.
She also issued instructions to all the station managers and police outpost incharge to do maximum patrolling in their respective areas.
“if any person is found violating the traffic rules, then action will be taken against him under the Motor Vehicles Act. As some suspicious persons who drive vehicles without number plates or without HSRP number plates, such vehicles must be checked so that the criminals who run away can be caught easily.” She added.
The DCP laid emphasis on crimes against women. Women’s desks have been established in all the police stations and any complaint received related to women should be taken immediately and not be kept pending. “Take immediate and on-the-spot action especially in crimes against women and children,” she affirmed.
She also stressed on the zero tolerance corruption policy. She asked the officers to serve the public and do their duty with honesty, and said any kind of complaint related to corruption will not be tolerated. “If any complaint is found, strict action will be taken against the concerned.”
All the station incharge along with the traffic police, will now patrol the area under their respective police stations. If any person disobeys any kind of traffic rules during patrolling, then Motor Vehicles Act will be initiated against him.
During the meeting, ASP Manpreet Singh Sudan, ACP Ramesh Gulia, ACP Surendra Kumar, ACP Arvind Kamboj, all police station and police post incharge of Panchkula were present.
