One killed in road accident

One person was killed and another critically injured in an accident near Surajpur bridge on the Chandigarh-Kalka highway late Thursday evening. The deceased,Tawinder Singh,was on his way to Kalka with his daughter Komalpreet on his scooter when they were hit by a truck from behind. The accident took place as the truck in front of their scooter suddenly applied brakes and the victims were crushed between two trucks. While Tawinder succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital,Komalpreet was referred to the PGI. Drivers of both the trucks fled from the spot.
