One killed after being hit by bike

A case of rash driving,causing hurt due to acts endangering personal safety of others and of causing death due to negligence under the IPC has been registered against Rai.

One person was killed Monday after a motorcycle hit him at the Sector 25/38 light point. The unidentified person succumbed to his injuries a few hours later at PGI,where the injured motorist is also admitted.

The police said at 7.40 am on Monday a man heading towards Sector 22 noticed a speeding motorcycle hit another man crossing the road at Sector 25/38 light point. Both the unidentified person and motorist were injured and taken to PGI. While the man died a few hours later and the motorist,Upinder Rai,is still being treated.

Rai (40) has suffered head injuries as he was not wearing a helmet,police said.

The deceased,at the time of the accident,was wearing a striped shirt and brown trousers. Estimated to be around 50 years old,he has a dark complexion,police said.
