No respite for residents around Dadumajra dump

With heaps of garbage scattered around the dumping ground in Dadumajra,residents are complaining. The site is the designated area where the city garbage is dumped.

Residents say they thought after the operation of the Solid Waste Management Plant,the area would be cleared of the garbage. But that,they say,hasn’t happened. The dumping ground is littered with garbage,which is stuck in fences around the area and lies on the road leading to the site.

A resident Narender says the stench from the dump has made it “miserable” for residents living around the site. “Leave alone moving around,it is difficult for us to open windows of our houses,” he says.

As it is,the residents say,there are so many mosquitoes in the area. The garbage should be removed before the monsoon season or the condition would get worse,Narender says.
