College authorities have already strengthened security within and outside the campus fearing clashes between parties as the election dates have been announced

With five days left for the PU polls,it is not only the candidates and students in election mode,but also the security guards at the college gates,enforcing the rules strictly.

College authorities have already strengthened security within and outside the campus fearing clashes between parties as the election dates have been announced.

A member of the PUSU party at SD College Sector 32 said,“We wonder how the security guards,who used to be friendly,don’t let us enter without our identity cards.”

Shivraj Singh Virk,SOPU party president at the college said,“The security is strict enough. No outsider can enter the college without an identity card. Not only the teachers,but even our Principal at times is at the entry gate to check if the security is fine.”

A student of SD college,Gaurav said,“The security guards at the gate did not let me enter as I didn’t have my identity card. I had to get it issued through my fee slip.”

Meanwhile,DAV College in Sector 10 is surrounded by security guards and police officials,not only outside the campus but even inside.

SOPU party president at DAV,Amandeep Singh said,“Even before PU announced the election dates,the security was quite active. DAV College is known for its clashes and fights during these days,but with such high security,nothing has gone wrong till now.”
