New masterplan for Yadvindra Tourist Complex

It has been decided by Haryana tourism department that the whole area around Yadvindra Gardens Tourist Complex will be re-planned to have contiguity with Bheema Devi temple,which is situated next to the Complex.

It has been decided by Haryana tourism department that the whole area around Yadvindra Gardens Tourist Complex will be re-planned to have contiguity with Bheema Devi temple,which is situated next to the Complex. The Chief Engineer has also been directed to prepare a masterplan of the area in this regard.

During a recent inspection of the Complex on September 5,by Dhanpat Singh,Financial Commissioner,Tourism,it has also been learnt that a culinary institute is coming up in seven-acre of land,procured from horticulture department. Ministry of Tourism,Government of India,will provide the financial assistance for the construction of the institute.

Some area has been leased out to a private entrepreneur for amusement activities which will end in 2012. After that it is likely to be shifted to the rear of the Complex after accommodating the culinary institute. A kitchen garden may be planned along with the culinary institute for growing herbs and exotic vegetables to be used by trainees in the institute.

A masterplan will be prepared to incorporate all the changes and a copy will be submitted to Jogi Ram,Superintending Engineer (SE),Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Anil Malhotra,General Manager of Hotel Taj,Chandigarh,who were also present during the inspection.

It was observed that only four rooms were booked in the entire Complex. Malhotra suggested that Complex should be given due publicity by posting pictures,rooms,interiors and other details on Corporation’s website and also on other travel websites. He also suggested that tour operators in Delhi and Chandigarh be given commission to book tourists for this Complex.

During the inspection it also came out that the Complex required the services of an independent JE (Horticulture),JE (Civil) and an electrician. Presently,it is being looked after by Drawing and Disbursing Officers.
