Defeating rival Sunidh Kashyap by a narrow margin of ten votes in a triangular contest,Manoj Arora was elected the new president of the Panchkula District Bar Association on Friday. While voting for the elections took place in the morning,the results were declared later in the evening. Arora polled a total 182 votes while Sunidh Kashyap managed 172 votes.

Subhash Sharma,who finished third,managed only 39 votes while one vote was found to be invalid.

“The election process was completed peacefully in which 394 votes were cast of the total 407 eligible voters,” said a spokesperson of the Bar Association. Dinesh Chopra was elected as vice-president after he emerged victorious with 241 votes in his favour while contenders Rajan Kumar and Y P Mahajan polled 105 and 43 votes respectively.

Ajay Sharma was elected as secretary and got 201 votes against his contender Hitender who lost by a narrow margin of 8 votes,getting 193 votes.
