Murder outside Court: 3 held

The police on Saturday arrested three of the accused in the murder case of Saudagar Singh,who was axed to death outside the Mohali District Courts on May 22.

The police on Saturday arrested three of the accused in the murder case of Saudagar Singh (31),who was axed to death outside the Mohali District Courts on May 22. They are Satnam Singh alias Satta (23),Jatinder Singh alias Jeji (25) and Navtej Singh (22). Gursimran Singh,Randhir Singh,Billu,Lucky and some others accused are still on the run.

According to the cops,the motive behind the murder was to settle score as the two parties had previously clashed. The three accused are already facing trials on charges of attempt to murder,assault and rioting. The deceased faced trial in an attempt to murder case.

Saudagar,a resident of Landran,was chased,beaten and murdered on the road by 10 persons. On July 7,2010,Saudagar and his friends had clashed with the assailants and an attempt to murder case was registered against him at Kharar. It was for the hearing of this case that he had come to the Courts. He had sought exemption from personal appearance which was turned down by the Court.
