Morning Shatabdi gets new German coaches

Keeping in mind the lengthy waiting list,the railway authorities have added 20 more seats to the morning Kalka-Delhi Shatabadi. On Thursday,not only were the German coaches added to the morning Shatabdi,a new train schedule was also introduced.

In total,there will be 10 coaches with a seating capacity of 67 in each coach. This brings the number of AC chair-cars to eight while retaining the two executive coaches. Thursday was the first day the train pulled off with the new coaches,but most seats remained vacant.

The addition will definitely ease the pressure and give passengers quality service in terms of more leg space and comfortable chairs. The only issue that remains a distressing point is the washrooms,which are not only dirty,but most of them cant be bolted properly.

New Schedule

The railway authorities on Thursday introduced the new calendar making some changes in the timing. The Sadbhavana Express that earlier reached city at 10.15 in the morning will now reach at 9.55 am. The Unchahar Express from Allahabad to Chandigarh that arrived in the city at 9.55 am will now reach at 10.15 am. The only train from Chennai to Chandigarh will now reach Chandigarh at 4.30 pm as against its earlier timing at 4.20 pm. The Chandigarh-Ambala passenger train that reached Ambala at 1 pm will now reach 35 minutes late at 1.35 pm.
