Mohali police solve UT’s snatching cases

The Mohali police on Friday evening claimed to have solved five cases of snatching reported from different parts of Chandigarh in the recent past.

The Mohali police on Friday evening claimed to have solved five cases of snatching reported from different parts of Chandigarh in the recent past. The breakthrough was achieved from the custodial interrogation of three suspected robbers,who were arrested by the local police on Wednesday,disclosed Mohali SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar. In a release,the SSP said one of the three arrested members of a robbers’ gang Manoj Sharma alias Nannu of Hoshiarpur has confessed to snatching cash,ornaments and mobile phones from women in four separate cases registered against him at Sector 34 police station and one in Sector 47. Besides Nannu,Narinder Kumar of Sector 44-C,Chandigarh and Natish alias Munna of Burail in Chandigarh were arrested in Mohali. They had already served sentence in Burail jail,where they had come across each other. The latest strike of the arrested gangsters was a house in Sector 70 here,where on August 27,after holding the minor children to ransom had decamped with gold ornaments,other valuables and household articles during broad daylight.
