Mohali news: To push Mohali’s infrastructure development, MLA Kulwant Singh on Monday held a comprehensive review meeting with GMADA Chief Administrator Vishesh Sarangal and senior officials, directing them to expedite all pending road and intersection projects across the constituency.
During the meeting, the MLA emphasised the urgent start of construction work on critical intersections along the PR-7 road, including the ones near Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan, Sohana, the Sector 69-68/78-79 intersection, and the IISER Light Point. He also discussed the proposal for three additional intersections in the Aerocity area, asking officials to begin groundwork without delay.
Highlighting connectivity issues, Singh pressed for the completion of the Sector 90/94 dividing road up to Landran and the PGI Chandigarh–Landran road via Sector 90/91, both considered vital for easing traffic flow and improving regional accessibility.
The MLA further directed the GMADA to initiate widening of the Kumbhra Chowk–Bawa White House stretch into a dual carriageway, noting that “all legal hurdles in the project have now been cleared”. He also instructed officials to accelerate work on the Golf Link to Leisure Valley road, another key link in the city’s traffic network.
Reviewing GMADA’s design plans during the meeting, the Mohali MLA shared his inputs to enhance project efficiency and assured full cooperation for inter-departmental coordination. “If support from any other department is required, I will personally ensure timely assistance so that no project faces delays,” he said.
The meeting was also attended by GMADA’s Chief Engineer and officials from the Engineering Wing, who briefed the MLA on progress timelines and upcoming project milestones.
