Named as an accused in the FIR on the complaint of Akali activist Harjinder Singh,local Congress MLA Balbir Sidhu on Monday threatened to launch a mass public agitation if the names of innocent persons implicated in the case were not dropped in four days. I want an independent investigation from any agency outside Punjab,with whom I will fully cooperate, said Sidhu,accusing the Punjab Police of bias. Claiming innocence at a press conference here,the MLA produced documents to prove that he was in Delhi when the shootout took place and insisted that his brother and the Baliyali sarpanch,an accused,were attending a wedding in Zirakpur.
