‘Missing’ former lawyer returns home

“Pankaj is the youngest of three brothers. He has two school-going children. A few days ago,somebody called up from a hotel in a nearby village and told us that Pankaj was staying there and had no money to pay the bills. We rushed to the hotel and brought Pankaj home,” said Mahesh Chandkhotia,Pankaj’s elder brother.

While Pankaj refused to comment,Mahesh added: “Pankaj was depressed and disturbed over his future. He had to quit his law practice after he suffered a head injury in a road accident in September.” He added that the family had asked him to join the family business — they are dealers of Mahindra and Mahindra vehicles and have their office in Industrial Area,Phase I.

Talking to Newsline,Crime Branch in-charge Inspector Kulbhushan said: “Pankaj had been putting up in Vikrant hotel in Railly village in Sector 12-A. We were in constant touch with the family. Messages,along with his photograph,had been flashed in all neighbouring states to trace his whereabouts. The moment we came to know that he has returned,the DDR that had been lodged after he went missing was cancelled.”
