MCA win rain-curtailed semi-final

For the past few days,rains have been playing spoilsport in most of the tournaments. On Thursday also,rain once again played spoilsport during the second semi-final encounter of the First Hot Weather U-14 Cricket Tournament being organised by Professional Cricket Club in Chandigarh.

At the end of the day,MCA Mohali scored an easy eight-wicket win over Yadvindra Public School,Mohali in the final which shortened in the second innings of the match to decide the winner.

Yadvindra Public School won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first,they posted a total of 91 runs in 16.5 overs. Yuvraj was the top scorer for the team playing a knock of 45 runs off 40 balls. Rest of the YPS batsmen could not give Yuvraj much support and the team skittled out for a total of 91 runs. Anil played a knock of 15 runs.

For MCA,Mohali,Avinash claimed two wickets in 11 runs while Anuram picked up two wickets for 16 runs.

Chasing a target of 92 runs,MCA,Mohali were 45 for 2 in six overs when rain stopped the play. After calculating averages,MCA were declared as winners. Shubam played a knock of 20 runs while Tarunpreet contributed 15 runs.With this win,the team has now stormed into the final of the championship.
