The Haryana government has reconstituted the Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board. Nine persons from among the public have been appointed as the non-official members. A copy of the notification in this regard was handed over to Advocate H C Arora by the office of Advocate General,Haryana.
The notification has been issued by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary to the Haryana government. Arora,counsel for petitioner,R K Garg,had filed a PIL in the High Court seeking a direction to Haryana to nominate nine non-official members to the shrine board from devotees/public,including two women,as envisaged under the Mata Mansi Devi Shrine Act of 1991.
Section IV the Act envisaged appointment of nine members from among the public in addition to four official members the chief minister as the chairman,the local government minister (as vice-chairman),financial commissioner and deputy commissioner,Panchkula. However,information obtained by the petitioner under the RTI Act had revealed that the state government has failed to appoint the members.
The nine nominated members are Moti Lal Jindal (M/s. Hira Moti Private Limited,Chandigarh); Salochana Ahuja (Dermatologist,Sector-8,Chandigarh); Santosh Sharma (Charnia village) (Kalka); Braham Sarup Brahamchari (Kurukshetra); Tej Pal Gupta (Sector-21,Panchkula); Sat Pal Garg (Sector-7,Panchkula); Hoshiar Singh,HCS (retd),Sector-27,Panchkula); O P Singla (Sector-21,Panchkula); and Pushpinder Goel,Sector-4,Panchkula).
