Master Plan panel submits suggestions

Master Plan will now be sent to Chandigarh Administrator Sivraj V Patil for final approval.

The Master Plan committee has submitted its recommendations following the suggestions that were received during the meeting of the Administrator’s Advisory Council. These would now be sent to the Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj V Patil for final approval.

A variety of suggestions had been made by the members of the Advisory Council during the meeting held around a fortnight back.

While the Administrator had directed that the suggestions be analysed within eight days and a report be prepared, the process is still on.

The committee has submitted the details of the proceedings and recommendations to the UT Adviser K K Sharma. A number of suggestions had been mooted by local MP Kirron Kher. These included setting up of a filmcity. She had further contended that there was a need for monorail in the city instead of the proposed Metro.

In an earlier meeting, the BJP had staged a walkout protesting against the Administrator for not accommodating MP Kirron Kher on dates that she was available. As the meeting was called again, suggestions were received from many quarters.
