Mansa Devi Board launches online donation facility

Devotees can now give their donations to the Mansa Devi Shrine Board at the click of a mouse.

Devotees can now give their donations to the Mansa Devi Shrine Board at the click of a mouse as the administration started the facility of online donations from this Navratra. To make the donation, one has to log on to the temple’s website http://www.mansadevi.nic.in,where one would be provided payment gateways to two banks — ICICI and HDFC.

While a receipt would be generated immediately to the donor, the amount given would also reflect in the database of the temple. The administration also plans to rope in other banks gradually.

The facility of donating online would be limited to only those who wish to donate cash and does not include donations in kind. Apart from this, the new system will also regularise donations in kind. Explaining this,Ashima Brar, deputy commissioner, said the board would provide a bar code to every item donated to the temple, which would also be recorded in the system. For weighing of things like gold, silver and even food items, there would be electronic weighing machines. “Computerisation of the data pertaining to donations in kind would minimise chances of tampering with these things. We would also be issuing a unique identification code to donors so that their entire data is stored with us for the next time,” she added.
