Man held for trying to rape 3-yr-old

UT Police arrested a resident of Kajheri for attempting to rape a three-year-old at his residence.

UT Police arrested a resident of Kajheri for attempting to rape a three-year-old at his residence. The accused has been identified as Ram Bahadur alias Veer Bahadur. he was produced in the local court and was sent to judicial custody.

According to the police officials,the accused is the neighbor of the victim. On Saturday evening,the accused lured her and took her to his residence.

However,one of the residents of the locality saw the 36-year-old Ram Bahadur take the three-year-old victim inside and raised an alarm. The other residents of the locality gathered and got the victim free from the accused before he could harm the child.

The incident took place on Saturday evening. The mother of the child called the police and registered a complaint. The accused was arrested at 9 pm. He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act in the police station at Sector 36.

The police also made the mother of the victim record her statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) with the magistrate.
