Man breaches Parade Ground security zone moments before VIP visit

In a bizarre incident,a motorcycle borne had to be stoped using a wire as he broke three police nakas outside the parade ground on Thursday morning. The accused identified as Shamsher Singh is a resident of Sector 70 Mohali.

On Thursday,the police were caught off-gaurs went the youth riding his motorcycle entered into a road which was restricted for general public in view of the Republic Day celebrations to be held at the Parade Ground. The incident took place a few moments before the function.

According to police,Singh was coming from the Shivalikview Hotel side and turned towards ISBT-17. On his way,Singh who was not wearing a helmet,broke three police nakas placed on the road stretch. The police personnel reportedly used a wire to stop Singh. He was nabbed by the police after he fell of his bike. He was then taken to GMSH-16 where he was treated for his minor injuries which he received when he fell off his bike.

The youth was booked for rash driving after an inquiry was conducted. The persons is reported to be a drug addict and has spent time at a drug de-addiction centre some time back. The same was also confirmed through his family members.

His father also use to serve the Chandigarh Police as a Sub Inspector.
