Man booked for kidnap,attempt to rape 7-yr-old

UT Police booked a man on Saturday on charges of kidnap and attempt to rape a 7-year-old girl. Though the police has recovered the victim safely,the accused is yet absconding.

UT Police booked a man on Saturday on charges of kidnap and attempt to rape a 7-year-old girl. Though the police has recovered the victim safely,the accused is yet absconding.

Police officials said that the incident took place on Thursday when the victim’s parents had gone to their workplace. The victim was alone at her residence at colony number 5. When the parents of the victim returned in the evening they found their daughter missing.

Neighbors informed the parents that Harpal,a family friend had come to the house and took the victim with him. Parents of the victim informed the police who then raided the Zirakpur residence of the accused.

The police officials did not find Harpal at the residence.

Munna,Harpal’s father,said that the accused had taken the child to Kurukshetra. The police officials detained the father of the accused. Following this,the accused left the victim and fled on Friday afternoon.

The seven-year-old was made to go through a medical examination which confirmed attempt to rape.

Police Station Sector 34 has registered a case under protection of children from sexual offences act and attempt to rape against the accused.
