Man arrested for robbery

The police claims to have solved a case of robbery,three cases of snatching and two cases of vehicle theft.

Chandigarh Police has arrested Harwinder Singh,30,a resident of Maloya,who was booked on charges of robbery. Police officials alleged that the accused had injured Krishna Bagga,a resident of Sector 40 on April 29 while snatching her gold earring.

The police claims to have solved a case of robbery,three cases of snatching and two cases of vehicle theft.

At about 12.30 pm on April 29,Singh,who was on a two wheeler,in an attempt to snatch a gold earring of Krishna Bagga,injured the victim. Bagga sustained injuries on her right ear, said a police officer.

A few hours after this incident,Singh again snatched two more earrings and fled.

Singh has been remanded to police custody till May 11 by a local court. During the interrogation,he confessed to committing the incidents of snatching and theft of vehicles used for snatching. Singh is also involved in more than 19 cases of theft and snatching.
