Mamata step-motherly towards Punjab: Sukhbir

Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal hit out at the Congress-led UPA government for “totally ignoring Punjab” in the railway budget presented by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal today hit out at the Congress-led UPA government for “totally ignoring Punjab” in the railway budget presented by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Sukhbir, who held a Sangat Darshan in Mansa today, said that while presenting the railway budget Banerjee should have known that she represents the whole country, not West Bengal or Rae Bareli.

“If we go by the proposals of railway budget today,it seems that Punjab does not exist on the map of India,as Railways minister has not allocated a single penny,a single train and a single kilometre of railway track for the granary of the country,” Sukhbir said.

Sukhbir said he and CM Parkash Singh Badal would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to lodge their protest against this “step motherly” treatment.
