Male foetus found dumped in hospital dustbin

Sweeper Kamlesh Rani discovered the three-month-old male foetus inside a dustbin outside the hospital’s toilet around 11.30 am.

Eighteen days after a six-month-old female foetus was found dumped in the women’s toilet at the General Hospital,Sector 6,another foetus was found in the hospital on Tuesday morning.

Sweeper Kamlesh Rani discovered the three-month-old male foetus inside a dustbin outside the hospital’s toilet around 11.30 am. It was Rani who had discovered the six-month-old female foetus on October 11.

On receiving the information,the hospital administration informed the police which registered a case for concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body under Section 318 of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector 5 Police Station.

“We are investigating the matter and will get the hospital records for it. The hospital staff will also be interrogated. We have conducted a DNA test on the foetus as well,” said Station House Officer Mukesh Kumar.

The police conducted a post-mortem on the foetus which was later shifted to the mortuary of the hospital.

However,the police are yet to get a breakthrough in the earlier female foeticide case. “There is no CCTV footage for us to investigate and the hospital records of the admitted patients have not revealed anything till now,” Kumar said.
