It’s an expensive world. You buy one phone and the very next day a new phone in the market announces a new application,one that you don’t have. One that surely can enhance your techie image as well as increase the utility of the phone. But then you can’t keep selling and buying phones! So what do you do? “Try smart applications,” answers Naushad Abdulla,CEO and Managing Director,Research and Innovation Technologies,a technology player from Dubai,as he launched mobile software products in the city that help detect theft of the mobile handset,track a person precisely on the ground,record all the conversations and take a back up of the entire data of your phone! “It’s about bringing utility and enterprise to your existing phone,” he reels that now all you have to do is buy the softwares available in the range of Rs 99 and Rs 999 and get an application on your phone for life. “All that is required is that your phone is a smart phone i.e be a 2.5G and 3G mobile handsets,” chips in Bakul Gala,who tells us that for now they have tied up with HotSpot Retail,as the exclusive dealers for these applications in India.

With the products to be sold under the umbrella brand ‘Orbit’,in the first phase four applications have been launched — Orbit Record,that has a two-way voice recorder plus Dictaphone,Orbit Tracker that acts as a GPS tracker,Orbit Protect,which is a mobile anti-theft software with advanced GPS and Global Phone Backup that has phone book contacts,tasks and calendar backup and restore software. “With the Indian mobile market pegged at US$ 16.5 billion or Rs 80,000 crores,out of which value-added services constitute 10 percent,this one sure is going to be the next big thing in the market,” he tells us.
