As part of the ongoing 350th martyrdom anniversary of Hind Di Chadar, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Government of Punjab, organised a light and sound show entitled “Hind Di Chadar” at Mohali on Tuesday evening. The spectacular digital presentation, blending sound, light, and devotion, captivated the audience and evoked deep reverence for the life and sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru.

The show portrayed Guru Tegh Bahadur’s unyielding stand for truth, justice, and freedom of faith, along with the supreme martyrdom of his disciples — Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji — who attained martyrdom at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, 350 years ago. Inspired by the immortal verse “Tilak Janju Rakha Prabh Ta Ka, Keeno Bado Kalu Mehak Saka”, the narrative unfolded through a spellbinding mix of lights and music, illustrating the Guru’s unmatched courage and divine grace.

The presentation encapsulated Guru Sahib’s journey — from his spiritual enlightenment to his ultimate sacrifice — leading to the formation of the Khalsa Panth by Sri Guru Gobind Singh, carrying forward the eternal message of courage, faith, and righteousness. Adding to the spiritual ambience, a Kavishri Jatha led by Bhai Rajbir Singh recited Vaaran depicting Guru Sahib’s martyrdom, while the audience reverberated with “Dhan Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji” slogans.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is observing the 350th anniversary across the state with devotion and grandeur. A series of state-level commemorative programmes will culminate at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25, including a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on November 24.

Grand Nagar Kirtans, beginning from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, will reach Mohali on November 21 before proceeding to Sri Anandpur Sahib, receiving ceremonial guards of honour in each district — a fitting tribute to the unparalleled legacy of Hind Di Chadar.

Among the prominent attendees were AAP Punjab incharge Manish Sisodia, MLAs Kulwant Singh (Mohali) and Kuljit Singh Randhawa (Derabassi), Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, and senior officers. The evening concluded with chants of “Bole So Nihal… Sat Sri Akal”, celebrating the eternal spirit of Guru Tegh Bahadur — the protector of faith, truth, and humanity.
