LOOKS like Sony Entertainment Television is all set to up its game. According to sources,Jaya Bachchan has been signed on as the lead in an upcoming fiction show produced for the channel by Endemol India.

Also,starting next month,actor Poonam Dhillon is all set to appear on the small screen as the protagonist on another fiction show on the channel,which is untitled as yet. The producers claim they will use the space to change the dynamics between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law; the two will be shown as best friends,helping each other out. According to channel sources,the story is about an uneducated woman who is empowered by her daughter-in-law and finds her identity. Poonam will essay the role of an amicable mother-in-law and the show is being produced by Jay Kinnari Mehta Productions who made Zee’s Rab Se Sona Ishq earlier. The role of daughter-in-law is being essayed by Crystal D’Souza of Ek Hazaaron Main Meri Behna Hai fame.
