Labourer found dead

The body of a 40-year-old was found near Badheri village on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Mahinder Singh from Parol village,Mohali.

After preliminary investigation it was found that the 40-year-old was a labourer. Assault marks were also found on the body of Mahinder. According to the police,Mahinder had a quarrel with Vijay,a labourer working with him,on Friday. After the two entered into an altercation,Vijay hit Mahinder with a lathi on his head and with a stone in his face.

A case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Vijay. The police is suspecting the involvement of more people in the act of crime. Vijay was later arrested from Sector 41.

Mahinder Singh was staying on rent at the house of Sardara Singh,Sarpanch of Parol Village. The deceaseds body was identified by his son. Further investigation is on.
