POLICE HAVE arrested four persons, including a juvenile and a student of hotel management at a Lalru-based private institute, for kidnapping a 15-year-old student of class IX and demanding a ransom of Rs 2 lakh from his father, who runs a meat shop at Attawa village near Sector 42, on Friday night. The victim was rescued from the rear of CII building in Sector 31.

The juvenile was sent to Juvenile Home, Sector 25. The victim was kidnapped by the juvenile along with Rohit, who were known to the victim very well, and later taken to the rear of CII building, where masterminds Raj Kumar and Satish were waiting. Police said Rohit made the ransom calls on the phone of the victim’s father, Parmod Kumar, who was at his meat shop at Attawa, around 7.45 pm.

Sub-Inspector Rohit Kumar said, “Parmod had ignored the first ransom call but when he checked the whereabouts of his son, who was not at house, he became suspicious. When Parmod again received the ransom call, he decided to approach the local police.”
