Former chief minister and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jai Ram Thakur attended the state executive committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Himachal Pradesh, held in the organisational district of Sundernagar on Wednesday.
During the meeting, he reviewed the functioning of the newly constituted executive body and assessed preparations for the upcoming elections.
Thakur said the role of youth was most significant, whether it was raising a voice against the alleged failures of the Sukhu-led state government or highlighting the achievements of the previous BJP government and the welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said active participation of youth is the biggest strength of any organisation and the BJYM was working commendably in this direction.
Praising the hard work, discipline and dedication of the young workers present at the meeting, Thakur said the role of the youth was vital in nation-building, social service and organisational expansion. The BJYM workers were carrying the party’s ideology to villages and booth levels, thereby strengthening the organisation.
Congratulating the newly formed executive, Thakur expressed confidence that the Yuva Morcha would infuse new energy, commitment and enthusiasm into the organisation and strengthen the BJP in the coming times.
Nachan MLA Vinod Kumar, BJP general secretaries Payal Vaidya and Sanjeev Katwal, BJYM state president Dr Sunny Shukla, state general secretaries Sushil Katsoli and Shashwat Kapoor, state spokespersons Ajay Rana and Ajay Thakur, along with other BJYM office-bearers, were present at the meeting.
