Inter-school tournaments to get underway

Education Department,Chandigarh Administration,will organise inter school football tournament in boys and girls Under-17 category while there will also be inter school cricket tournament in boys’ under-14 category. Also,players will be shortlisted for the 59th National School Games. The tournaments would be held from July 22. For the smooth conduct of the tournaments,UT Education Department has put respective Principals with physical education teachers (PET) on duty. The fixtures will be drawn on today at 10 am at Sports Branch,DEO Sector 19,Chandigarh. Also,the convenors will prepare a summary of each match mentioning the features of the match along with the performance of the players,so that players could be shortlisted for 59th National School Games. Any outstanding player of the school whose school has not taken part in the tournament and recommended by the said school can appear for the trials next day after the completion of the tournament. The cut off date for the tournament is as under: under-14 years (players should be born on or after 01-01-2000) and under-17 (Players should be born on or after 01-01-1997).

Football: u-17 (boys and girls): convener: Principal of GMSSS-22 and the venue is GMSSS-22. The PETs who have been given duty are Bhupinder Singh (GMSSS-22),Rajnish Kansal (GMSSS-35),Akhil (Chitkara Int’ School-25),Rajnish (Shivalik Public School-41),Shesh Nath (GMHS-26 (P.L.),Bhupinder Gosain (St. Xavier’s School-44),Neetu (GMHS-20),Anjana (Ryan Int’ School-49),Amrit Pal (BPEd trainee GMSSS-16),Ravinder Sharma (BPEd trainee GMSSS- 22),Also,there will be coaches from Sports Department Chandigarh; meanwhile the co-convenor will be headmistress of GMHS-41. The venue is Sports Complex,Sector 42,Chandigarh. The PEts who have been given duty are Sewa Singh (GSSS-Dhanas),Jagpal Singh (GMSSS-40),Parveen Kumar (GMHS-41),Dinesh Dahiya (GMSSS-37-D),Amanpreet Chawla (St. Stephen’s-45),Inderjit Singh(Shishu Niketan School-22),Sunny Sharma (Shishu Niketan Public School -43),Daljit Kaur (GMSSS-46),Baljeet Kaur (GSSS-Kaimbwala),Kanwaljit Kaur (GSSS-45),Gaurav (BPEd trainee GMSSS- 37),M Rocko Singh (BPEd trainee GMSSS- 32) . Also,there will be two coaches from Sports Department Chandigarh.

Cricket: u-14 years (boys); concenor is headmaster of GHS-19 whereas overall coordinator is Kapil,DPE,GHS-38. The venue is GHS-19 ground.
