A state-level workshop on district epidemiological profiling of HIV-AIDS being held at GMCH-32 entered its second day on Saturday. The workshop is being organised in collaboration with NACO,UNAIDS and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The workshop was presided over by Dr Raj Bahadur,Director Principal,GMCH,and other participants included Dr T Bakkalli from UNAIDS,Dr SPS Sohal ,DHS Punjab.

During the inaugural speech,Dr Raj Bahadur said GMCH had been nominated as the state coordinating agency for Punjab and Chandigarh to undertake the study on epidemiological profile of all the districts which would help in understanding the situation of HIV / AIDS at the district level and event at the sub-district level.

Annual prize distribution held at GCG-11
The 54th annual prize distribution function of Government College for Girls,Sector 11,was held here on Saturday. Ram Niwas,Home Secretary,UT Administration,was the chief guest on the occasion.

He gave away prizes to students who excelled in academics,sports and extra-curricular activities. While addressing the students,he said the doors of mind should always be open to learning and the power of knowledge will lead them to success.

He stressed upon three basics- time management,positive attitude and focus.

Earlier,presenting the college annual report,Achla Dogra,principal of the college,highlighted the achievements of the students in fields of academics,extra-curricular activities and sports at the university,inter-university,state and national levels.

Khalsa College holds prize distribution function
Khalsa College,Patiala,organised its annual prize distribution function on the college campus on Saturday where Justice Sabina of the Punjab and Haryana High Court was the chief guest. She awarded 20 students with roll of honour who had brought laurels to the college. Fifteen students were given scholarships.

Justice Sabina,while delivering the presidential address,lauded the achievements of students who with their hard work brought glory to the college and wished them success.
