As part of the extensive campaigning drive of the Indian Air Force on flight safety awareness,Air Force Station Chandigarh 12 Wing organised a workshop at Guru Nanak Vidya Bhandar Trust (VBT) Polytechnic College in Mohali on Friday.
More than 200 students attended the workshop where they were shown motivational movie titled Akash Yodha apart from lectures and an interactive session.
Another film on career opportunities in the Air Force was also screened along with an overview of the same. Posters,pamphlets,caps,notebooks and pencils carrying the message of flight safety were also distributed among students.
The main aim of the workshop was to make students aware that disposal of garbage and food items in the open,which attracts birds may lead to aircraft accidents.
Wing Commander Pankaj Chopra,Station Flight Safety Officer of Air Force Station Chandigarh,along with his team including Wing Commander J S Minhas explained the role of every citizen towards enhancing flight safety and reducing the cases of bird hit.
