The Haryana Chief Minister,Bhupinder Singh Hooda,on Friday urged people to eradicate social evils like female foeticide and demands for dowry from girls.
Speaking at the time of inauguration of the newly constructed Ror Dharamshala at Panchkula here Friday,Hooda said that the Ror Community has also been covered under the 10 per cent reservation for the special backward classes. He announced Rs 21 lakh from his discretionary fund to Ror Mahasabha for the purchase of furniture and a sound system for the Dharamshala. CM said that the Ror Dharamshala,would be a common place where the people of the community could sit together and share their views and also redress their grievances through mutual dialogue.
The community has its dharamshala at Kurukshetra and Panipat also. When I was the president of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee,I had organised a training camp of the organisation at Ror Dharamshala,Kurukshetra, he said.
While referring to the third battle of Panipat,Hooda said that the members of the Ror Community had played a vital role in the battle. It is a brave community and is always prepared to sacrifice its lives, he said. Hooda said that today in the era of globalisation,the world is shrinking and development has taken place at a rapid pace. In such a situation,only those nations,states or societies could make progress who would lead in education.
The CM also said that Haryana has also witnessed unprecedented development during the last eight years in all spheres of development including per capita investment,per capita income,resource mobilisation and per capita expenditure in plan budget.
Speaking on the occasion,Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sultan Singh Jadaula said that the earlier chief ministers had always neglected the interests of the common people whereas CM Hooda had ensured the welfare of all sections of the society. The current CM has always given due honour and respect to the Ror community, he said.
