Himachal govt to recruit 357 anganwari workers

The Himachal Pradesh on Friday approved to fill up 357 vacancies of Aanganwari workers and helpers in different parts of the state.

The Himachal Pradesh on Friday approved to fill up 357 vacancies of Aanganwari workers and helpers in different parts of the state. The government will also open 83 new Anganwari or mini Aanganwari centres in the left out villages in the state.

In a cabinet meeting,chaired by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal,it was decided to give preference to the tailoring teachers for appointment as Aanganwari worker and helper while carrying fresh recruitments.

In another significant decision,the government approved the plan to modernise the fire services network and approved to purchase nien quick response vehicle,17 combi tools and 21 high pressure pumps/mini water tenders for deployment in different fire stations.

Approval has also been granted to fill up 20 posts of junior engineers (civil),five posts of junior engineers (mechanical) in Irrigation and Public Health Department,10 posts of havaldar instructor/ quarter master havaldar in Home Department through direct recruitment on contract basis and four posts of deputy superintendent of police through direct recruitment by HP Public Service Commission.

The cabinet has also decided to fill up two posts of members,which included one eminent educationist and 16 posts of different categories to make Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission fully functional. The commission headed by former additional chief secretary Sarojini Gangu Thakur was set up to look into complaints against private universities and also monitor their working in the state.

The private universities have been under lot of criticism from the opposition.

The cabinet also approved Recruitment and Promotion Rules for the post of divisional engineers (soil conservation) in the Department of Agriculture.
